Georgia Southern Eagles vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

Quick read:

Take the Chanticleers moneyline and watch the Eagles limp home with another bruised ego. This isn't a rivalry night; it's a survival check. Georgia Southern is looking for a win the way a broke gambler looks for a loose quarter, and Coastal Carolina is sitting in its own backyard with a reason to actually care. When the visiting team is three games under and the home team is playing for pride, the chalk usually smells like victory.

The numbers tell the story without much interpretation: Georgia Southern arrives with three straight losses, a record that looks like a dropped ball in a gymnasium. Coastal Carolina, meanwhile, has the luxury of home-field advantage and a roster that isn't currently in a freefall. You can bet on the underdog's heart, but you can't bet on a team that has been dropped by the league's collective indifference. The Eagles are coming to play, but their resume is reading like a horror novel.

The only real risk here is if Coastal Carolina decides to treat this like a scrimmage and the Eagles somehow find a gear they haven't used since last spring. If the Chanticleers' defense decides to take a nap, the price might not cover the embarrassment. But betting on a team with three losses in a row to outplay a home team in a Sun Belt conference opener is like betting a hamster to beat a cheetah in a sprint. Stay away.
