Prediction: Carlos Alcaraz VS Ben Shelton 2025-06-01

The French Open is heating up, and we've got a mouth-watering matchup between Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton. Alcaraz, the world's second-ranked tennis player, is looking to defend his title, while Shelton is seeking his first Grand Slam victory.

Let's get down to business. Alcaraz has a 10-match winning streak in Paris, which is no joke. He's also 2-0 against Shelton in their head-to-head matches. However, Shelton has been playing some great tennis, reaching the Munich final and pushing Alexander Zverev to his limits.

The odds are heavily in favor of Alcaraz, with BetMGM offering 1.05 for an Alcaraz win and 9.0 for a Shelton upset. The spread is set at 7.5 games, with Alcaraz favored to cover at 1.85.

Given Alcaraz's dominance on clay and his superior head-to-head record, I'm predicting he'll take this one in four sets. Shelton will likely put up a good fight, but Alcaraz's experience and skill will ultimately prevail.

Best bet: Alcaraz to win in four sets. The over/under for the match is set at 31.5 games, and I'd recommend taking the over, considering Shelton's ability to push Alcaraz to his limits. However, the safest bet is Alcaraz to cover the spread at -7.5 games.

So, if you're looking to make some money, put your bets on Alcaraz to win and cover the spread. But don't expect a cakewalk – Shelton will make him work for it.
