Prediction: Central Michigan Chippewas VS San Jose State Spartans 2025-08-28

It looks like we've got a case of mistaken identity here. The provided text is about American football, but the question is about a basketball matchup between Michigan State and East Carolina. Let's focus on the hoops.

Given the information, we know that East Carolina had a decent offense but a mediocre defense last season, going 19-14 and missing the NCAA Tournament. Michigan State, on the other hand, has a strong incoming class and key returners, but is replacing a significant portion of its roster.

Since there are no specific odds or stats provided for this matchup, I'll have to rely on general knowledge. Tom Izzo's teams are usually well-prepared, especially in non-conference games. Considering Michigan State's coaching and talent, I'd expect them to come out on top.

Best bet: Michigan State - (no specific point spread available)

Keep in mind that this is a non-conference game, and the Spartans might be using it as a warm-up before facing North Carolina. However, with Tom Izzo at the helm, I'm confident that Michigan State will take care of business against East Carolina.
