Prediction: Colorado Rockies VS New York Mets 2025-05-30

The Colorado Rockies (9-47) are about to get a taste of the Big Apple, and it's not going to be a sweet one. They're heading to Citi Field to face the New York Mets (34-22), who are looking like a well-oiled machine with a 2.88 team ERA, the best in the majors.

The Rockies, on the other hand, are struggling to find their rhythm, with a team slugging percentage of .355, which ranks 26th in the majors. Hunter Goodman is one of the few bright spots for the Rockies, leading the team in runs batted in (31) and boasting a team-high batting average of .276.

The pitching matchup doesn't look good for the Rockies either, with Kyle Freeland taking the mound against the Mets' David Peterson. The Mets have a strong record when favored on the moneyline, winning 64.3% of their games.

Given the odds, my best bet for this game is the New York Mets on the moneyline at 1.29 (FanDuel). The Mets are just too strong, and the Rockies are, well, not. The Mets' pitching and hitting are on a different level, and I expect them to take care of business at home.

If you're feeling fancy, you could also consider taking the Mets -1.5 runs at 1.67 (BetMGM), but I think the safer bet is the moneyline. Either way, it's going to be a long night for the Rockies.
