Prediction: Yomiuri Giants VS Chiba Lotte Marines 2025-06-04

The Yomiuri Giants are set to take on the Chiba Lotte Marines in what promises to be an emotional game, given the recent passing of legendary manager Sadaharu Oh. The Giants will be looking to honor Oh's legacy with a win, and they've got a good chance of doing so with their strong lineup.

Shohei Ohtani is back from a thigh injury, and while he might not be at 100%, his presence in the lineup is a significant boost for the Giants. Manager Tatsunori Hara's plan to use a different outfielder each day for the designated hitter (DH) position will help reduce Ohtani's workload and keep him fresh.

The Marines, on the other hand, will be looking to spoil the Giants' plans with their own brand of baseball. With Yui Kimura starting for the Orix Buffaloes against his former team, the Marines will need to be on their toes to take advantage of any mistakes.

Given the odds, I'd say the best bet is on the Yomiuri Giants to win outright. They're priced at 1.65 across most bookmakers, which is a decent value considering their strong lineup and the emotional boost they'll get from playing for Oh's legacy.

As for the spread, I'd take the Giants -1.5 at 2.24 (DraftKings). They've got the firepower to take down the Marines, and their pitching should be able to contain the Marines' offense.

The over/under is set at 6.5, and I'd lean towards the under at 1.87 (FanDuel). The Giants' pitching has been solid, and the Marines' offense might struggle to keep up with the Giants' scoring pace.

Best bet: Yomiuri Giants to win outright at 1.65 (Fanatics)

Alternative bet: Yomiuri Giants -1.5 at 2.24 (DraftKings)

Under/Over bet: Under 6.5 at 1.87 (FanDuel)
