Prop Bets: Boston Red Sox VS Tampa Bay Rays 2025-09-19

Red Sox vs. Rays: A Tale of Two Teams (and a Few Over/Unders)

The Boston Red Sox (-134) are favored to stomp the Tampa Bay Rays (+124) on Friday, but let’s be honest—this game might come down to whether Garrett Crochet can pitch like a $30 million cyborg or if the Rays’ Drew Rasmussen will regress to his 2022 self (spoiler: he will). Boston’s 178 home runs this season? That’s more than the Rays’ entire payroll. And with a 102-run scoring differential, the Sox are basically the NBA’s Warriors of the AL East.

Key Stats to Know:
- Red Sox: 178 HRs (14th MLB), .423 SLG, 3.73 ERA.
- Rays: 172 HRs (16th), .403 SLG, 3.84 ERA.
- Garrett Crochet (BOS): 2.63 ERA, 240 Ks in 191.1 IP this season.
- Drew Rasmussen (TB): 2.74 ERA, but 3.59 WHIP.

Player Props to Bet Against (Because Fun):
- Trevor Story: Over 2.5 total bases (+1200). Let’s be real, Story’s a .268 hitter—this line’s a trap.
- Jarren Duran: Over 1.5 RBIs (+480). He’s 80 RBI guy, not 81.5.
- Rays’ Yandy Díaz: Over 0.5 doubles (-230). He’s hit 15 DPs this year. Take the under.

The Pick?
Boston wins 6-3. Crochet fans 7, Díaz strikes out, and the Rays’ “small ball” strategy ends with a double play. The Over (7 runs) is a trap—this game’s total is 7, but the Red Sox’s 3.73 ERA vs. Tampa’s 3.84? It’s a pitcher’s duel waiting to happen.

Final Joke:
The Rays will win the AL East… in 2121. Boston’s playoff odds are -400, which is just fan funding for a “We’re Still Here” T-shirt.

Play it safe: Red Sox -1.5 (-134). Or bet on Trevor Story to strike out. The joy is free. 🎲⚾
