Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians: A Tale of Two (Not-So-Great) Pitchers

The Tampa Bay Rays (-141) are favored to escape George M. Steinbrenner Field with a win, and honestly, who can blame them? Their lineup (5th in batting average) is a collective wrecking crew, while Cleveland’s offense ranks dead last in runs and AVG. Let’s just say the Guardians’ pitchers have had worse days—like every day this season (16th in ERA).

Key Stats to Know:
- Shane Baz (-114 to exceed 5.5 Ks): The Rays’ righty has a 4.98 ERA, but hey, strikeouts are his friend (8.8 K/9). Bet he’ll flirt with that 5.5 K prop.
- Jose Ramirez (Over 0.5 doubles at +370): The Guardians’ slugger is a doubles machine; don’t let his team’s offense discourage you.
- Total Under 8.5 Runs (1.87): With both starters sporting ERAs north of 3.9, this game could be a pitcher’s duel… or a slow burn.

Why the Rays Win: Their bats (+.253 team AVG vs. Cleveland’s .223) will outslug the underdog Guardians (+121). Plus, who wouldn’t take a 58.3% implied win probability?

Why the Guardians Might Shock You: Tanner Bibee’s 9-11 record is misleading—his 4.52 ERA isn’t, though. But if Yandy Diaz (-320 to Over 0.5 doubles) stays hot, maybe they pull off the upset.

Prop Pick: Ramirez Over 0.5 doubles. Because even on a bad day, he’ll double… your money.

Final Score Prediction: Rays 5, Guardians 3. Because math.
