Prop Bets: Yokohama DeNA BayStars VS Yomiuri Giants 2025-08-23

NPB Showdown: Giants vs. BayStars – A Senior Moment in Tokyo?

The Yomiuri Giants (-1.5, 54% implied) are favored to stomp the Yokohama DeNA BayStars (45-year-old starter Yasuaki Ishikawa, anyone?) in a game that’s basically a retirement party for the BayStars’ pitching staff. Ishikawa, who recently gave up 6 runs in 2 innings while muttering about “regret,” is back on the mound. His implied durability prop? A heartwarming 2 innings and a prayer.

Key Stats & Props to Note:
- Ishikawa’s Runs Allowed Prop: Over 3.5 (-200) / Under 3.5 (+150). Bet the under—this isn’t a game; it’s a mercy rule waiting to happen.
- Total Runs: Sites are split between 5.5 and 6.0, but with Ishikawa’s “career year” (2 IP, 6 ER) fresh in our minds, under feels like the bet of the century.
- Giants Moneyline: A modest $10 bet nets you $17-$21, depending on your bookie. It’s basically a layup compared to the BayStars’ historic home struggles (last win at Jingu Stadium: 2022).

Why Trust This Prediction?
Because math! The Giants’ odds imply a 54-59% chance to win, while Ishikawa’s age alone gives the game a 98% chance of being a snoozefest. The BayStars’ best hope? Praying Ishikawa retires early and the Giants’ starter naps.

Final Verdict:
Yomiuri Giants -1.5 and Under 5.5. If Ishikawa survives 3 innings, call it a miracle. If not… well, at least he’ll have a story for his golden years.

“I couldn’t fulfill the role of a starter… but I’m working on a memoir titled ‘Why I Should’ve Retired in 2020.’” – Yasuaki Ishikawa, 2025.
